Yeah, have you read it? It couldn't be more off-putting if Posterous themselves had hired a disinformation specialist to write it. I've tried reading it three times. I usually run away at "cron job activation."

You can post to Wordpress by email: see Settings > Writing. I haven't set this up myself, so I don't know the details, but the WP documentation is here: http://codex.wordpress.org/Post_to_your_blog_using_email

I have that same urge to want to shave my head whenever I need a haircut. It is, I think, the same minimalist aesthetic that makes me like Modernist houses and Craftsman furniture... and then another, probably more hindbrain part of my head starts calling me Ikea Boy. You can't win.

That said, I think the new blog design looks good.

You didn't switch to weekly digests because of my post, did you? Or am I just being a megalomaniac?

I just began playing with foursquare, which was by default linked to my Twitter account. I think foursquare and TriOut could be fun, but I don't want to pollute my Twitter stream with the reverse-stalker updates. So I now I know to "unlink" Twitter, and only bona fide foursquare friends will see my updates.

But I'm not worried about the pleaserobme.com effect. Such an alarmist response to location-based app can play on your emotions, but if you think about it, its extremely unlikely that I'll be burgled because I tweeted my absence.

Good advice and points Dave. I worry more about the people offline nearby than geeks on the social web looking at check-ins.

Dave - I'd love to hear how you get on with Thesis. I've been tempted to get it myself, mainly because of the SEO aspect. Main problem is I don't really want the hassle of changing the look of my blog just yet, and you only have to mention CSS or .php and I run a mile! I might just go for Scribe, which you can get separately from Thesis.
